An extensive consultation process will be undertaken to ensure
the framework meets the needs of stakeholders and has a high degree
of support from stakeholders for implementation.
The consultation process will involve:
- a national roundtable
discussion with leading patient safety and quality personnel
from around Australia (completed)
- focus group discussions with
health care workers, consumers and other stakeholders at a variety
of locations around the country
- targeted consultation at a range of different health care settings,
including rural and remote, community health and metropolitan
hospitals
- construction of a website to provide information about the
development of the framework and the opportunity for online feedback

- Students and trainees preparing to work in the health care system
- Health care managers and administrators
- Board members of health care providers
- State and Commonwealth government health departments
- Policy developers
- Professional/Industrial bodies
- Medical colleges
- Government and non-government health-related organisations
- Medical indemnity organisations
- Educators
- Researchers
